The University of Oxford has unveiled plans to host an institute focused on academic research that can be used by charities.
The Oxford Institute of Charity is to open in summer 2022 at New College, the university announced on 15 May. The institute is the brainchild of the college and the think tank Charity Futures.
Alongside academic research and promoting the importance of studying charities, the OIC aims to develop international networks in this area and digitise charity records so they can be more easily studied.
