Julia Buckingham warns of knock-on effects on R&D of Augar review recommendations

Cuts to the amount of money that England’s universities receive for teaching could discourage students from pursuing academic careers and lead to a shortage of researchers, the chair of Universities UK has said.

In an exclusive interview with Research Professional News, Julia Buckingham said that if the tuition fee cuts proposed in a review of post-18 funding in England came to fruition, universities might be forced to scale back the practical elements of their courses.
