The computer science department at Aberystwyth University has been named the most gender-diverse among its counterparts at UK universities—but female academics in the field remain seriously underrepresented across the country.
According to an analysis of the top-ranked 25 computer science departments in the UK from the global cybersecurity company CrowdStrike, 33.3 per cent of teaching and research staff at the Welsh university are women.
