London institute will promote interdisciplinary work on infectious diseases
Imperial College London has launched an Institute of Infection, which it says will bring together one of the largest critical masses of researchers working on infectious diseases anywhere in the world.
The institute will aim to address some of “the biggest unanswered questions in the field of infectious disease”, such as how climate change is affecting the spread of diseases, how gene-editing technologies might help to reduce the spread of disease and how animal vaccination programmes help to curb diseases that also affect humans.
