Jisc survey reveals rapid switch to online learning during lockdown changed teachers’ roles

Almost three-quarters of teaching staff in universities say that changing to digital delivery during the Covid-19 pandemic caused anxiety and exhaustion, according to a survey by Jisc.

Jisc’s teaching staff digital experience insights survey 2020-21 says that 73 per cent of teaching staff thought that quickly pivoting to online teaching at the start of the pandemic had added “significant new stress” to their workload and led to anxiety and exhaustion, even through 66 per cent said they had been offered support with digital teaching.
