Michael Barber picked as University of Exeter chancellor

Former chair of Office for Students to lead the Russell Group university from January 2022

Michael Barber has been appointed chancellor at the University of Exeter to take over from current chancellor Lord Myners of Truro when he steps down on 1 January.

Barber (pictured) was inaugural chair of the student regulator in England, the Office for Students, until the end of March this year when Conservative peer James Wharton took over the role.
