Student rent costs up by 60% in 10 years

        

NUS and Unipol data show growing proportion of student living loans spent on rent

Rent prices for student accommodation have grown by 60 per cent over the past decade, according to an analysis by two student groups.

Data published by the National Union of Students and student housing charity Unipol show that the average cost of university accommodation in the UK is £7,374 in 2021-22, which is a rise of 61 per cent compared with 2011-12.
