Universities fuel increase in international education revenue

   

Higher education responsible for 70 per cent of multibillion-pound uplift

Total UK revenue from education-related exports and transnational education increased to £25.2 billion in 2019, up almost £2bn on the previous year, government figures show.

Data published by the Department for Education on 16 December show that the value of international education exports increased by 8.1 per cent between 2018 and 2019, with higher education accounting for 69.8 per cent of that figure.
