India travel ban prompts worries for students at UK universities

Around 10,000 Indian people studying at UK universities are estimated to be back in India

India’s inclusion on the red list of countries from which most travellers are banned due to soaring cases of coronavirus has prompted worries for thousands of students.

Many students returned home to India, the second largest source of international students in the UK, during the pandemic. They have been studying entirely online and now face difficult decisions about coming back to the UK in time to safeguard their right to work here once their course finishes.
