Research-intensive universities release statement amid increasing pressure to actively promote free speech
The Russell Group has issued a strongly worded statement outlining how its members already protect free speech on their campuses, as the government prepares legislation to bolster free speech in universities.
The representative group for research-intensive universities said on 22 April that its statement “underlines the determination of the UK’s leading research-intensive universities to protect freedom of expression and academic freedom”.
