Higher education and innovation bosses call on chancellor to keep promises on science cash

Universities and business leaders have urged chancellor Jeremy Hunt to recommit to spending £20 billion each year on R&D by 2024-25.

In an open letter to the chancellor published 28 October, vice-chancellors and industry leaders called on Hunt to keep a pledge made by the now prime minister when he was chancellor, to spend £20bn on R&D annually by 2024-25.
