Former skills minister returns to education department in cabinet reshuffle

Gillian Keegan became the fifth education secretary of the year when she was appointed on 25 October by new prime minister Rishi Sunak.

Keegan replaces North West Hampshire MP Kit Malthouse, who served as education secretary for 49 days under former prime minister Liz Truss.
