UUK urges clearer policies on preventing student suicide

             

Vice-chancellors’ group publishes guidelines on contacting students’ friends or family during a crisis

Universities have been told to be “more proactive” in their approach to preventing student suicides.

Guidance published by vice-chancellors’ body Universities UK on 6 October urges institutions to develop clearer policies about when to involve a student’s family or friends if there is a “serious risk” to their welfare.
