Proposals to scrap level 3 courses are ‘back door’ route to promoting T-levels, says critic

Government plans to withdraw funding from some level 3 courses—including Btecs— in a bid to promote its new T-level qualification should be scrapped, the House of Commons education committee has heard.

Current proposals would mean any qualification that overlaps with the new suite of T-level technical qualifications in England could lose government backing, essentially making them financially unviable.
