Ucas data show post-Brexit slump in EU students continues

The number of students from the European Union applying to UK universities has fallen for the second year in a row after the post-Brexit fee hike came into force.

Data for the end of the 2022 application cycle, published by admissions body Ucas on 8 December, show that there were 24,015 applications from EU-domiciled students, down from 31,275 in 2021. It is the lowest number of applications in the 10 years covered by the dataset.
