Gillian Keegan defends those coming from abroad to study in UK

The education secretary has insisted that international students should be separated from the “challenge” of UK migration overall, following a number of attacks on universities’ overseas recruitment.

Gillian Keegan told MPs during an accountability hearing for the House of Commons education committee on 7 December that although there are “huge issues” with migration in the UK, international students are “a huge economic contributor”.
