Essay mills are now illegal entities and sites should not carry their marketing, says minister

The skills minister has written to internet service platforms warning them that the advertising of essay mills and other contract cheating services is now illegal, following the passing of the Skills and Post-16 Education Act.

The bill—which outlaws the provision and marketing of essay mills—received royal assent on 28 April, prompting minister Alex Burghart to contact internet companies that have previously carried adverts for such services.
