Employers deny union claims that they are deliberately delaying negotiations

The Universities and Colleges Employers Association has hit back at claims that it is wantonly delaying negotiations with trade unions over pay and conditions.

In a joint statement published on 4 April, the five trade unions that represent staff in negotiations claimed that at the first meeting of the 2022-23 bargaining round, which took place on 30 March, Ucea said it was “not yet in a position” to present a pay and conditions offer.
