Master of college says interviews are “intimidating” to applicants from disadvantaged backgrounds
The University of Cambridge’s Churchill College wants to scrap admissions interviews because they are “intimidating” for students who come from disadvantaged backgrounds, the college’s master Athene Donald has revealed.
If Churchill goes through with Donald’s proposal, it will likely become one of the first Oxbridge colleges to ditch the infamous interviews, which have played a key part in evaluating prospective undergraduates.
