Government aims to ‘stamp out’ drink spiking

Joint taskforce to create action plan to tackle spiking among students by autumn term

Ministers are trying to stamp out drink and drug spiking crimes at universities by setting up a taskforce to scrutinise the problem over the summer.

The joint initiative from the Department for Education and the Home Office will see vice-chancellors, police representatives and campaigners create a working group to explore ways to prevent drink-spiking crimes against students. A full list of members of the working group will be published in due course.
