Assessment-panel chair says framework has helped embed impact in university culture

Dinah Birch, chair of the REF arts and humanities panel and pro vice-chancellor for cultural engagement at the University of Liverpool, said the increased focus on the impact of research was a “success story” for research-assessment exercises.
