Hepi boss welcomes ministerial comment disowning overall student number controls in England

The director of the Higher Education Policy Institute has welcomed ministerial assurances that there are no plans to reintroduce “dangerous” overall student number caps in England.

Speaking at the Hepi annual conference last week, England’s further and higher education minister Michelle Donelan distanced the government from the possibility of a cap, saying that “no one is talking about limiting the overall number of people who go to higher education”.
