
Universities UK International says already-waning postgrad share threatens UK ambition to become science superpower
An “uncertain environment” is making it harder for the UK to attract international postgraduate research students, who are being attracted to rival countries, UK universities have warned.
A report by Universities UK International published on 9 June blamed the loss of international PGRs on “uncertainty in the operating environment for universities”, such as higher tuition fees for students from the European Union, changes to student visas and “changing perceptions” of the post-Brexit UK.
