Russell Group calls for UK association even if trade issues remain unresolved

The UK’s association to Horizon Europe is “too important” to be used as a negotiating tool in the ongoing row over the Northern Ireland Protocol, the chief executive of the Russell Group has told the president of the European Commission.

A final decision over the UK’s relationship with Horizon Europe is on hold while politicians negotiate a solution to a trade dispute relating to the UK’s border with the EU in Northern Ireland.
