Conservative MP raises concern over money flowing into UK higher education
The further and higher education minister has declined an MP’s request to set up a taskforce to examine the “vast quantities of communist cash” being invested in UK universities.
In the House of Commons on 4 July, Conservative MP Julian Lewis asked the minister, Michelle Donelan, if the government shared his concerns about money “from countries such as China and Vietnam” flowing into higher education institutions.
