Universities’ income rose in first full pandemic year

     

Tuition fees and research grants helped boost income despite Covid-19 impact

UK universities’ total income grew again in 2020-21, despite fears that the Covid-19 pandemic would squeeze finances.

Data published by the Higher Education Statistics Agency on 14 July show that the total income of all higher education providers in 2020-21 was £44 billion, up from £42.5bn in 2019-20.
