1851 Royal Commission awards fund research that could lead to new processes, products or patents
The Royal Commission Exhibition of 1851—an institution initially set up with profits generated from the Great Exhibition—has opened applications for its cross-academia and industry fellowships.
The three-year Industrial Fellowships are offered to candidates who collaborate with a company to identity an area of research that “might lead to a new process, product or generate intellectual property”. Prospective candidates must also partner with a university where they will undertake a PhD while working for the company.
