University and College Union leader says union is “appalled” at high cost of acceptance deposits
The University and College Union is urging universities to end the use of “non-refundable” deposits for postgraduate courses.
In a letter to the president of the vice-chancellors group Universities UK, UCU general secretary Jo Grady said the union was “appalled” at the high cost of acceptance deposits for domestic and international postgraduate applicants, with some institutions charging students as much as £5,000 to secure a place.
