UUK guidance comes in response to multiple incidents of drinks and needle spiking last autumn
Universities in the UK have pledged to step up their focus on preventing and responding to spiking drinks ahead of the new academic year.
As students returned to campuses last autumn, there were numerous reports of spiking incidents in nightclubs—including both drink spiking and needle spiking. A survey conducted by student newspaper The Tab found that 11 per cent of 23,000 students canvassed said they had been spiked.
