Scheme reverses £14 billion deficit but warns inflation could lead to deficit at next valuation
A £1.8 billion surplus has been recorded for the beleaguered Universities Superannuation Scheme pension fund.
A monitoring report for June, published on 18 August, found that a £14.1bn technical provisions deficit recorded at the March 2020 valuation has been “eliminated”, leaving a surplus of £1.8bn.
