Dundee vice-chancellor says government is strong on rhetorical support but unable to provide sufficient resources

The vice-chancellor of the University of Dundee, Iain Gillespie, has criticised the Scottish higher-education funding model for placing research-intensive universities at a “competitive disadvantage”.

While the Scottish government is strong on rhetorical support for higher education, according to Gillespie, he called it out for being unable to provide sufficient resources to enable research-intensive institutions to compete nationally and internationally.
