University leaders call for more student support as living costs rise
Vice-chancellors have urged the next UK government to bring back the maintenance grant to help students through the cost-of-living crisis this year, arguing that England’s tuition fee freeze means their own finances are “severely stretched”.
Universities UK, which represents vice-chancellors, warned on 5 September that “financial hardship among students is building to crisis point”.
