Russell Group wants government to invest in Horizon performance

Group of research-intensive universities wants more financial support to ensure maximum benefit

The Russell Group of large research-intensive universities has called on the government to provide sufficient funding to ensure high rates of UK participation in Horizon Europe.

The group of 24 institutions welcomed the recent confirmation of UK association to the EU’s flagship research and innovation funding programme but now wants assurances in the autumn budget—which will take place on 22 November—that this will be accompanied by investment to ensure good performance.
