Union members accept deal with employers’ association to restore pension benefits to pre-strike levels

University and College Union members have ended their Universities Superannuation Scheme strike, with 99 per cent of 19,000 UCU members surveyed choosing to call a halt to industrial action related to the pension fund.

The vote follows agreement between the union and employers’ association Universities UK to restore pension benefits to pre-strike levels. The change will take effect on 1 April next year.
