Chris Skidmore says students should be removed from statistics amid new net migration row

Former universities minister Chris Skidmore has said international students should be taken out of migration statistics, after an apparent surge in people coming to the UK put the issue squarely back on the political agenda.

The Office for National Statistics published preliminary data on 23 November putting net migration at a record 745,000 last year.
