Office for Students sets out free speech proposals

England’s regulator outlines plans for complaints system and approach to student unions

The Office for Students has outlined how it intends to tackle what its free speech tsar Arif Ahmed describes as “persistent and widespread concerns that many in higher education are being silenced”.

The OfS published two consultations on 14 December detailing how a new free-to-use complaints system will operate and offering further information on how it intends to regulate free speech in student unions.
