Scheme issues confirmation that contribution rates will fall in the new year

The Universities Superannuation Scheme has confirmed that contribution rates will be cut from 1 January after the University and College Union and employers, represented by Universities UK, ratified plans.

UCU and UUK announced an agreement in November that would see the scheme’s benefits returned to pre-2020 levels following cuts, and, at a meeting of the USS Joint Negotiating Committee on Monday, both sides voted the plan through.
