Financially troubled East Anglian institution announces successor to David Richardson

Former University of Greenwich vice-chancellor David Maguire has been appointed as the next head of the University of East Anglia, as it attempts to navigate a tricky financial period.

Maguire, who led Greenwich from 2011 to 2019, will take over as vice-chancellor at UEA from May 2023. His previous roles include interim vice-chancellor at both the University of Dundee and the University of Sussex.
