Institution points to “significant financial dimension” behind major cuts to staff numbers
Staff at the University of Brighton have rallied in support of colleagues facing compulsory redundancies, as the institution makes nearly a third of its professors redundant in an attempt to save millions of pounds.
University and College Union regional official Michael Moran said the university was “committing a monumental act of self-harm” with the cuts, which are spread across all seven of the university’s academic schools.
