A-level results: ‘Significant’ fall in nursing students

Acceptances to nursing and teaching courses both fall following growth during Covid-19 pandemic

There has been a 13 per cent fall in the number of students accepted to nursing courses on A-level results day, data from admissions service Ucas show.

Nursing acceptances reached 18,300 on 17 August, lower than the 21,130 accepted last year and 18,370 accepted in 2019, the last year before the Covid-19 pandemic.
