A-levels: Lib Dems accuse government of incompetence as results day approaches

Students must not miss out on university because of disruption caused by the government’s “incompetent” response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Liberal Democrats’ education spokesperson has said.

On 15 August, Munira Wilson called on prime minister Rishi Sunak (pictured) to apologise to “every single young person who falls short of their expected grades and misses out on the university places they deserve” when A-level results are announced later this week.
