Ofqual’s Jo Saxton will take over at Ucas in January

Jo Saxton, the chief regulator for exams watchdog Ofqual, is to become the next head of university admissions body Ucas.

Clare Marchant stood down after six years as Ucas chief executive this month to become vice-chancellor of the University of Gloucestershire. Saxton (pictured) will take over from January next year, with Sander Kristel, chief operating officer at Ucas, acting as chief executive in the interim.
