UCL opens campus for research into ‘biggest challenges’

East Campus to abandon a traditional university structure, with disciplines working together

University College London is to open a campus that will explore “biggest challenges facing people and the planet” including AI and sustainability, and aim to accelerate breakthroughs in these areas. 

Research and teaching at the UCL East Campus, situated on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, will see different disciplines working together in shared laboratories and studios, moving away from a traditional university structure.
