Scale of funding challenges means “some loss of provision” may be inevitable, PwC says

A recent report by a major consulting firm has found that UK universities are facing major financial challenges and has warned that “more radical solutions” may be needed to tackle them.

The combined impact of inflation, recovering research costs, and relying on international student fees for funding mean that pressure is “acute” for some institutions and may lead to “some loss of provision across the sector”.
