Scottish government urged to pass on £5.8m to universities

Universities group warns Scottish higher education will fall behind England unless innovation fund is delivered

England will “continue to edge ahead of Scotland” unless £5.8 million intended for universities to engage with businesses is delivered by the Scottish government, according to Universities Scotland.

The body representing the country’s 19 higher education institutions was reacting to the news, reported by Research Professional News, that the devolved government has not yet passed on funding made available in October last year by the Westminster government.
