Student complaints to watchdog hit record high

Independent adjudicator also reports increase in number of cases successfully closed in England and Wales

The number of student complaints taken to the higher education watchdog for England and Wales soared by 10 per cent in 2023, reaching more than 3,100.

According to the annual report from the Office of the Independent Adjudicator for Higher Education, published on 25 January, 3,137 complaints were received last year, up from 2,850 in 2022. It is the seventh successive annual increase.
