Most undergraduates using AI for coursework, study suggests

Hepi report shows AI use is widespread

More than half of undergraduate students use artificial intelligence programmes when completing university assignments, according to a Higher Education Policy Institute report.

A survey of more than 1,200 UK undergraduates found 53 per cent of respondents were using AI for course assignments, although only 5 per cent said they were submitting unedited AI-generated text for assessment.
