NUS blasts ‘unforgivable’ changes to UK rental reform bill

               

Ministerial letter suggests all landlords will be able to evict students when academic year ends

The National Union of Students has described the government’s Renters (Reform) bill as a “hollow shell of what it once was” after a ministerial letter suggested that plans to allow landlords to evict students are to be widened.

In a letter sent to Conservative Party members, levelling-up minister Jacob Young said the bill would enable all landlords who let to students to evict tenants at the end of their academic year.
