Universities urge Treasury to scrap NHS nurses’ tuition debt

‘Critical’ staff shortfall poses significant threat to NHS, say MillionPlus and Royal College of Nursing

A university group has called for chancellor Jeremy Hunt to consider scrapping tuition fee debt for nurses in England when he delivers next week’s spring budget.

The MillionPlus group of modern universities has joined forces with the Royal College of Nursing to send a joint letter to Hunt, calling for a “model of fee loan forgiveness for nurses who practise in the public services”.
