Stormont moves to curb period poverty in higher education

Minister says free sanitary products in education will address “unacceptable” issue

The government of Northern Ireland has approved the provision of free sanitary products in educational settings, to help those who cannot afford them avoid missing out as a result.

Speaking on 29 April, economy minister Conor Murphy said that nobody should miss out on learning because of period poverty.
